THE PEOPLE

Who were these people who began such a daring experiment which has lasted over 160 years? 

They had no wealth or high positions in society; some worked in factories and offices, one was a traveller, at least one was a builder, and one pushed a hand cart.  Most were young.

John Skirrow and Sarah Wright.

John Teague in 1892 aged 70. 

He was one of the first Elders aged only 26 when the People's Chapel was started.
